re; how many of the 50 or so companies they purchased in the last few years we'll actually work out.

We will start to know soon. My guess CSCO will be shedding fat in the next two quarters.

NYCBoy, before showing your inability to think, try doing some research on VCs. How many of their investments in early stage companies pan out? Maybe 1 in 10? Then take a look at their portfolio returns. Pretty stellar, huh? Well, that's exactly what Cisco does. The only difference between what they've done in the past and now is that they are getting more press than they used to about the failures.
