Perhaps you and Neo will have it all sorted out by then.

I'm gone--two minutes.

No. We will not have it sorted out by then. I gave Neo a link to 722 top-notch articles on consciousness, and he has refused to parse them for his fans.

Even these articles weere scarcely scratches on the arse of the world. Give me five years...

I think there is really no free will. We are born wired a certain way and all the things that happen to us seem to be part of an endless chain of cause and effect determined before out birth and the birth of our great great great grandparents. But it is as if it were random- because the causes are too many to be known by us. We don't know for example why we stop to pick up one dime in the street but fail to notice another. And even though stopping for one and not another completely changes our life, we don't really think of life like that. We have the illusion of free will because the causality in our lies is beyond our understanding. I don't see the problem with that. I am pretty sure everything that happens to me is caused by something that happened before, but I don't let it interfere with my will (because if I did I would be letting that idea cause something else to happen, and I prefer the results that arise when I act as if I were in control...and goodness knows what causes that predilection)
