You are not reading it correctly. Meehan was responding to an accusation that he never clearly stated his reversal of his January bullish call. The article linked was dated 2/5/2001. As far as I know he is as bullish as ever as of now - although he does expect "bumps."

joel, a 25% pop in 2 weeks increases down side risk and reduces upside potential. i give bill credit for not inspecting the horse's teeth, if you know what i mean. it was a trade, though. you won't see buffett speculating like that.
