That is what is so interesting about this development. Mr. Buffett is famous for waiting quietly for the right pitch. He rarely is so public about potential investments. I tend to think that he has grown frustrated with his exclusion to wealth that can be found in power generation and is willing to force the issue. You may recall that he recently declared that there is nary an investment in the public markets that he is presently interested in taking a position in . . . perhaps he is ready to put his cash horde to work in an area that is really mouth watering - but he must beat down the wall to get at it.

By the way, for those that are interested NRG is far less expensive on a valuation basis than CPN and is mostly more attractive on many key power industry measurements.
