We might see more of those stories from No. CA, but look at the rate, 2.4~2.5% - still far under nationwide 4+%. As the article also says skilled engineers are still in high demand. Another point is they are so used to get multi offers within mins, it's harder for them to accept that one actually has to go through several face to face interview. One thing puzzles me is that why west coast moves much slower than in east coast.

One is that workers with the most specialized expertise are faring the best. Companies are still
hiring senior engineers and accountants, while marketers, administrators and others with "soft"
skills are more apt to be deemed expendable.
