<I agree that all this negative stuff we talk about is known by anyone who matters on the street. >

Patron... we all know that this means nothing... very important information gets ingnored or 'watched' for periods of time while people try and decide if it will reverse, be meaningful, etc. Meehan knows this, he's just playing 'pundit' and exibiting typical clownish behaviour. LOL, he's "too close" to the forest to see it.

Yes, but why does that matter? If they are personally profiting, and socking away their profits in gold or bonds, whilst saying all is well, invest on merry fools, their knowledge does not negate the possible ugly denoument about to visit your neighborhood.

Well, that quote came the day before Good Friday when the market was closed. I didn't see Roach's latest screed, but I doubt that he's got anything new to say. I doubt that unemployment will rise to 5%, but that's probably the level of semi-literate full employment anyway. I certainly hope that real estate prices are hit, as they're outrageous here in CT, but most mortgage lenders have sold the paper they wrote via FNM. If some subprime lenders go under so be it. If FNM cracks, good for the shorts. I just don't see signs that the domestic or global economic environment is that terrible, although we're likely to have a recognizable inflation problem sometime next year.
