explaining how such an illusion is generated does not advance the discussion I did not discuss the implication of how self awareness is generated in the brain. The implication is that the frontal lobe can become fixated upon an axiom and so begins to discard information from the senses and memory in order to preserve the integrity of the axiom. In other words, the more certain and tightly held a belief, the more likely that it is a fixation. TP
