Search "gold in 2000" or "gold in 1999" (lower case like that) and you will get a link to a pdf file which has world gold production tables for that year broken down by countries and for the previous 5 years to that date.

Also some info here.

Server may be slightly flaky from time to time but that is your gov't for you. Probably not running Linux.

An adobe reader for pdf files may be got free from adobe.com

load down the "english version with search".

Gold in 2000 did not work. "Gold in 1999" does (with the quotes its quicker), however it might be quicker still to go here.
