Doing the right thing for Jeb will be either permitting Coastal Petroleum to drill or paying "just compensation". Doing the right thing for George W will be to develop an energy policy for the United States that balances environmental risks against the energy needs of the people of the United States. It is not a black and white political issue and all of the political posturing (on both sides) is pretty disgusting. This same political posturing is going to lead to continuing rolling blackouts in California and New York this summer as well as $3/galllon gasoline. It will eventually damage the economy of the United States if it hasn't already. It will encourage oil blackmail in the International Arena for all kinds of purposes. George W's choices are much more complex, but they are also much more important to the entire Country. I think he will put the Country before the interests of his brother who happens to be Governor of Florida. It'll be a test of his character.
