Don't forget the cost reduction of the final PC, without having to pay extra for the Northbridge, complexity that goes into designing the motherboards resulting in much cheaper motherboards.

I think it will be tougher for the motherboadrs makers to distinguish themselves with performance of the motherboards. Th motherboards will be mainly about features they will offer.
