Your point is well taken and used by the masses. My point is that an Ira can become a very risk oriented tool.
There is no one that can guarantee you that a stock price will continue to go up. I can pretty well guarantee that most who start to use that IRA as they begin to withdraw from it will already have reached a lower income level.
That concept is the depends of continued growth and long range inflation both.
Assuming his 401k has dropped three hundred thousand in value what good is that three hundred thousand to him if he can't deduct it from his gains in this year?
