I have been to the ski basin in the Santa Fe National Forest (or is it park?), which was about 13,000 feet, if I recall correctly. Of course, Albequerque is already over 3,000, and Santa Fe is over 5,000. Wouldn't Las Vegas, then, be about midway between the two cities, or perhaps even closer to Albequerque? When you say "mountain running", do you mean jogging up and down the mountains?

I just looked at a map, and I see my memory is faulty, that Albuquerque is west, not east, of Santa Fe. I think I will look at the map some more........
