"Merrill Lynch IT Survey

Recent survey of CIO's by Merrill Lynch says that;

60% of CIO's expect re-acceleration by year end
IT budget growth for 2001 and 2002 are 9% and 13% respectively
Spending intentions decelerating
If deceleration spreads to Europe and Asia, companies in U.S. will miss numbers
For the first half of 2001 they see accelerating growth in DELL, SUNW, VRTS, and MCDT

Companies they see as having flat or decelerating growth in 2001 are BRCD, NTAP, EMC, CPQ and HWP"

NewVision, this is a typical reaction for Dell. If anybody, and I mean anybody, reports a problem, a bunch of panic sellers come out of he woodwork. I know that won't make you feel better but if you check history you'll find this to be true.
Don't let the fact that Dell goes down around earnings spook you either. That has happened every earnings announcement for the last couple of years including the ones where a split was announced. Go figure.
Just use it to your advantage.
