Moscow, 24 April: Russia produced 15.86 tonnes of refined gold in January-March 2001, which is an increase of 1.8 tonnes (12.9 per cent) against the same period last year, a source at the Economics [Economic Development and Trade] Ministry has told Interfax.
Earlier reports quoting the Russian Union of Gold Producers set Russia's gold output (mined, incidental and recovered from scrap) in 2000 at 143 tonnes or 13.2 per cent more than in 1999.
