Baltimore used to be the sex change capital of the world. John Money, who used to do the operations is at Johns Hopkins. There were two huge apartment buildings next to me with various people in the midst of the change. Back then it took almost five years and most of them (as far as I could tell) made a living as hookers (don't ask for specifics....I don't know). Money stopped doing the operations back about 15 years ago because he decided that people who were unhappy in one sex were usually just as unhappy in the other. I do remember one person that I knew who had the operation because his/her girlfriend was a lesbian. How's that for the old switch-a-roo?
