Hey, Mezz. I read about that. Amazing, ain't it! I don't know if the 4th amend. fits, but I don't see how you can be arrested for something that you don't go to jail for. That's just nuts. And pretty brutal.

Argh, that's pretty damn depressing.

How've you been, Mezz? Get the house sold?

This was an absurd decision.

I wish some D.C. cop had the guts to pull over a Justice for some petty offense -- maybe not signaling a lane change far enough in advance -- and arrest him (or her), cuff them, take them to the station, strip search them, and lock them up until they can post bail, and say that the Supreme Court said this was all legal.

Problem is, they're too insulated from the consequences of their decisions.

I think revisiting and reminding people of this decision is important:

Anyone who happens to inadvertently run a red light or drive above the posted speed limit, is now subjected to arrest and if they have minors in their vehicle, then those children may also be taken into to custody.......

All at the discretion of the Police Officer who charges the driver with the "crime"....and all done before the driver has his or her day in court...

The USSC said it's okay....

not comforting, is it?...
