I'll take a guess anyway that you're probably somewhat familiar with the Lone Star State, which is a strange land even for a native born American such as myself.

Two years ago I visited Alaska and was very near the Arctic Circle during the summer solstice. My circadian rhythm got completely disoriented with the sun high in the sky after midnight and all and I was on vacation. How do you Finns deal with it during the regular course of your lives. I felt kind of punch drunk on sunlight the whole time. Actually I seemed to be completely beyond time. It might have been a continuous noontime for all I was aware. I think our poet ee cummings (or possibly Ogden Nash) wrote: "Strange things done in the midnight sun."
