well, the CPI problem has been solved by hedonic indexing and geometric weighting with a helping of seasonal adjustments, and the unemployment rate actually DID get below 4% for a while, if the stats are to be believed (ahem) , so mission accomplished. can we now abolish the Fed? :)

Yea, or the language I prefer: "keep all of the people happy ALL of the time"... LOL, I should be thankful, our wonderful government will make me very rich with this fabulous oportunity to buy gold and gold stocks.
