Have you done any DD on exactly where an Iridium phone can now be legally used?

no. i'm just playing the dumb customer. i'm simply payin' my money and takin' my chances... :)

I received the following email today from my Iridium Service Provider (Stratos) regarding the issue of where the phone can/cannot be used:

"Iridium is a Global System including the poles. However coverage is not
available in certain countries. Please see below for the listing:

These four countries are restricted (meaning the phone won't work there)

N. Sri Lanka
N. Korea
Hungary
Poland

These countries are barred, which means the phones will probably work
there but we cannot guarantee service, and the phones might be confiscated

Cuba
North Korea
Iran
Iraq
Afghanistan
Libya
Angola
Ghana
Yugoslavia
