I see approx. 72.2 million short shares at ViWes for a 1.74 ratio. What is Your source re 80, BTW I own a big chunk of WCOM long.

AS, I also think that as WCOM crossed 20, it got heavily shorted. I would also bet that they did not really have to cover as this trade is not that bad.
JNPR and CIEN would have been painful for shorts.

This data also suggests that there is still a lot of shorting going on and probably decreased as we crossed 2000 but started increasing again.

Those April numbers still indicate that the midcap and large cap Nasdaq names were being shorted aggressively even if the small names like xoxo had reduced short interest.

That is bullish data at first glance.
