It is hard to accuse VIA of chicanery, but if they have a new CPU and want to spend their time on it they may decide to stop selling competing items for commercial reasons. All legal and aboveboard. AMD sales would fall to zero until a new chipset is found and mobos are made and volume ramped

Common! Via would be stupid... KT's are a gold mine, and I can assure you that they make MUCH better margins on it than any other product they make, and ever made.

.13µ wafers cost quite a bit compared to .35µ

AMD saved Via's Q, as well as quite a few taiwaneese mobo makers... 7.3M... we're talking about serious volumes.

My take is that Pccanada is rehashing an old rumor on the A7M266, or there is over-demand for AMD760 chipset. AMD had no plan to produce huge volumes of this chipset, but with all other screwing up on performance, the demand is over-expected
