The biggest problem I see for so much of this is political posturing. I just wish our politicians could be as honest as possible. When I hear about compromise I laugh. Compromise usually means the Democrats ask for 100 % and get 70 % while conservatives ask for 20 % and get 2. On the other hand Republicans can't in one breath say little government but then seek to use government to impose morality.
One thing I would like to see is that Republicans recognize that programs are not going to go away but that they should look to see that they are run efficiently and and cost effectively. If we as a nation feel that we should have food stamps, then we should have a program that gets food stamps out to those in need but costs 10 cents on the dollar to do that not the other way around where only 10 cents on the dollar goes to the recipients.
