"FlashVision is SNDK's admission that they have lost the battle for dominance in removable flash media and are now playing "follow the leader"." Craig, I think that it is less a question of following the leader than it is of joining with one of the leaders. Safety in numbers, etc. Also, if you look at some of the recent SNDK patents, it's clear that SNDK will be designing some good features into its future flash cards--features that improve reliability, assure more efficient use of vacant sectors, assure more even use of the sectors, etc. Even if SNDK shares these features with Toshiba, the two companies will fare better than the competitors who don't have this IP.
