I think it's reasonable to presume that GSM networks will evolve to WCDMA networks and that IS-95 networks will evolve to CDMA2000 networks. As Eric has stated, 87.5% of the worlds mobile phone users are or will soon be on the GSM standard. The GSM networks stand no chance of converting to CDMA2000, therefore CDMA2000 will remain a niche technology; and Nokia's focus is high volume.
