One thought on that WSJ column.

That cash data that the column uses is history, whereas the price data is current (of course). In addition, all of the companies mentioned are losing money, sometimes a lot of it. Thus, the cash position is much worse than the data would indicate.

It doesn't mean that there aren't opportunities out there. But there aren't quite as many as you would think upon first glance.
