I've been unable to get shares to short from my broker for two days... and it's not too surprising. The short interest actually doubled last month to 8,657,679 shares.

Of course there's no telling what the interest is today, as this figure is out of date by at least ten days I think. However, given the news during the past two months and PLMD's answers, it appears that rather than scaring the shorts, the allegation of an investigation has actually made the shorts bolder.

I can almost guarantee that the stock is going to continue to rally sharply and sell off hard until the allegation is resolved to everyone's certainty. Until then the stock is subject to anybody's little whisper.

I think holding this stock (long or short) is gambling. The potential reward may be great, but the risk is just as great. And there are many, many stocks available that have just as much upside with much less potential for disaster.

On the other hand PLMD remains an almost perfect trading vehicle. Good luck to all.
