<<They have no guns in England, and a much lower crime rate.>>

We have lots of guns where I live and a murder rate of 1/250,000. Very few of those involve guns.

Taiwan has a higher rate of murder with a 3 times higher rate of non firearms murders.

Back in the 60's NYC schools had shooting clubs. Kids carried their rifles to school on the subways, stored them with teachers and then used them in practice after school. "If we don't ask why young people weren't shooting each other at a time when guns were far more accessible than they are today, we do so at our peril." Walter Williams.

P.S. No answer to the rising rate of crime in UK vs. the declining rate in US or the fact as Ish has pointed out that many crimes (including violent crimes) are committed at a higher rate in UK now than in the U.S.

How does the saying go.....lie, damn lies, and statistics.
