i see backweb has realnetworks (realplayer) listed as a business partner... along with some others that may provide you with insight

also, doesn't backweb's location on your hard drive provide you with some idea of what program uses it?

other thoughts.... uninstaller programs (except they operate best if they have monitored the install), and then the option of reinstalling backweb in order to uninstall. perfectly valid method, it will probably ask to overwrite existing copy, and it may then show up on add/remove.
