Wally: Fed. boys should have been more aggressive earlier. Surprise cut should have been when Angell was calling for it. . Fed. did not seem worried then. They did not care. It was just an inventory thing. So they screwed the markets. Businesses saw no recovery and still see none by and large and the layoffs have commenced. Last week Fed. tried to rectify things. Could be too late as this spreads abroad to Europe and Asia. Now Europe does not seem to care. As layoffs progress, consumer confidence will not improve too much. Layoff cycle has taken on a life of its own.
