and one lady actually said that she thought if people were out of work, they'd actually go to Starbucks more -- you know, to study the want ads, get out of the house, etc

Ben, they might well spend more time at Starbucks. But they'll nurse one regular coffee for an hour instead of spending eight bucks on Latte Grandes and pastry and leaving in ten minutes. Good for them, but for Starbucks...
