How much JOY is there really in cyberspace? Of course there is some, but you punch a lot of dough for a small loaf...

I don't know about that. One reason I like this place is that I can visit with all my buds, talk about more or less interesting things, hear ideas from people I wouldn't normally encounter--and I don't even have to sit up in bed. You don't get any more efficient than that. I don't have to get dressed. I don't have to face any traffic. I don't have to prepare refreshments. And if I'm bored, I can just leave. I don't have to even make an excuse. In terms of punching dough (never heard that expression before) or kissing frogs or whatever, I think our little place provides a pretty good return on investment if for no other reason than that the investment is so low.

My main concern with it is that it's so sedentary. I used to get up in the morning and go for a walk first thing. Now I switch on the computer. I only have to walk a few steps to switch on the computer. This is not good. Until I can discipline myself to at least go for the walk before switching on the computer, SI is a problem for me.

I think Chase has the right idea, Solon. Spending more time with Chase and less in cyberspace is probably a good thing.

I'm going for a walk right now.
