"keep dial-up customers, and throw away broadband customers."

elmatador- That is not what the article is saying. What the article is saying is "DSL hell" is not sustainable. Therefore SELECT customers have to be dropped to make an economically viable model.

I'm hoping my Cable Modem bill goes UP to $50 or $60/month without Ralph Nader screaming bloody murder. If DSL follows, then suddenly lots more customers can get broadband. That is the way it should happen. Not via congress and regulations.

What we have now is no-man's land similar to California power crisis. Some parts regulated, some parts not. No wonder we have broadband hell. -MikeM(From Florida)

elmatador- CNBC just reported Alcatel CEO, Serge Last name(?), says mobile wireless in Europe is in complete disarray. Why did he say this(if he said it)? Is demand in Europe hitting a very big wall or did he mean something else? -MikeM(From Florida)
