Actually, acknowledging that force is an "option" retains strategic ambiguity. It just clarifies policy, it does not change it.......

<<Bush's remarkable statement yesterday that the US "would do whatever it took" militarily to defend Taiwan against a Chinese attack.>>

Candid, open and honest...truly a remarkable statement by a remarkable leader.

I suggest you get use to the truth Scumbag, because that is what you will get from President Bush.

Dear scum, you really don't see yourself as straining a nat and swallowing a camel. There is a treaty, President Bush stated what a defense treaty means. The treaty has not changed and thus US policy had not changed.

The a=b=c of the above seems clear to me. But scum you find this confusing and have to go to some UK dude to tell you how to think. You really think this UK dude understands a wit about how Colin Powell thinks.

I must say your lack of comprehension and gullibility is just awesome.

gullible [Adjectives] easily deceived [more]; simple, green, soft, childish, silly, stupid; easily convinced; over-credulous, over confident, over trustful; infatuated, superstitious

you all have a nice day now hear.
