Hi TC

ps: don't you hate it when we won't leave you alone. :-)
I love and you know it. LOL

I have both Real Player and Jukebox on the machine and those links sure explain how BackWeb is used by them. I have never used Jukebox and probably haven't used Real Player in 6 months or more. Strange but everything seems to default to Win Media Player these days.<g>

I have no problem dumping both of those, but still want to look into this Data Life Guard program, which I see is listed and checked in my msconfig startup folder. It is listed as Data Life Guard--common startup group C:\program files\Data life guard\8263142\backwe~1.exe.

Have to go out for a while but when I get back I will check that out and I also have Quicktime on the machine, so I want to make sure that is not also tied into this. Also, "common startup group" kind of indicates more than 1 program involved. :)

Thanks for the links and your interest. Let you know what I find, if anything.

Bob
