Agreed...lack of logic in movement is definitiely a frustrating factor for both investors and traders alike. Many technicals are bouncing around and lately are giving lots of early or false signals. Volatility is extreme...a DOW that moves down 1800 points and then gains just about all of it back in 6 weeks time is ominous and unsettling regardless of your outlook. My outlook is pretty fuzzy. There are some underlying events going on in the market on the negative side and I am not sure it is understood yet. FED has been pumping liquidity into the market at an enormous rate over the last 6+ months, rates have been cut 2% already and will likely be cut more and yet the market is still down. Credit expansion continues, but the DOW has gone nowhere and the Naz is off 60% and we have yet to see a repurcussion from all of this. I can list more, but the bottom line is that there is something rumbling underneath and I am unsure right now whether it can be fixed.

Earnings from companies are mixed...some are still going down the tubes while others are now claiming increased visibility in the future and reduced inventories.

I have both bearish and bullish counts in Elliot Wave. The environment is getting tought to trade with stocks bouncing around and shooting off up or down in short time.
