Yes, I see now you must be right about the usage. In that case, the account makes more sense. Dialectic prepares one to "see" the forms. It is not so much a process of reasoning to them, as a clearing of false conceptions leading to intuition. The Good is not so much a Form as the SuperForm, which illuminates all other. It is like the light of intellect, only the knowledge is direct, not discursive. Logos does, in several Greek schools of philosophy, refer not only to reason and speech, but to the Supreme Reason, and it is clearly that sense which is invoked in John........
