Max,

Hammer runs all the 32 bit software, apparently wants to be clock speed competitive with P4, and if you have such a processor, there is no reason to wait for software that will support one of it's minor features - 64 bit instruction set.

The bottom line is, everything is late. Within the last 6 months we found out that both cores - Mustang and Hammer are 1 year late, and this is only the roadmap, I am not talking about actual shipping processors, which will have their own delays associated with them. Like the mobile Palomino that started shipping about a month ago, and still has not arrived. In this time, I think even Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria would make it across the ocean.
