With the recurring P3 and P4 missteps by INTC over the past 18 months, I'd suspect many corporations are verging on switching...Unless P4 is able to clean up its act very shortly, I'd suspect, to use Elmer's favourite phrase, a "flood" of INTC corporate defectors to the Athy and the Pony camp as this year unravels!!!

Scumbria,

Hehe, we are looking at the same scenario from totally opposite perspectives. My contention is that in the presence of a price and performance competitive fully oem supported (top 3, mainstream business line) offering from AMD I don't see 100% of business customers sticking with Intel without a significant reason. :)

PS: If a top 3 OEM fully supports an AMD offering then Intel's reputation is not a significant reason because far short of 100% of business customers put so much stock in Intel's reputation that they will be unwilling to consider the top 3 OEM's reputation instead. (something like... if Compaq is supporting it then we don't care what's in it cause Compaq will take care of us if there are any problems)

I agree with you but.....
just few months back Dell rep advised against p4 for us and we are fairly large with some intensive number crunching applications. It would be harder and harder for dell to supply us with pIII based high end workstations as Intel turning away from pIII
