What kind of majority??

There are lots of them

ma·jor·i·ty (m-jôr-t, -jr-)
n., pl. ma·jor·i·ties.

1.The greater number or part; a number more than half of the total.
(?? sloppy definition, depending on the legal meaning
of ";", or, and, or list??)
2.The amount by which the greater number of votes cast, as in an election, exceeds the total number of remaining votes.
3.The political party, group, or faction having the most power by virtue of its larger representation or electoral strength.
(larger than what, any one of the other goups??!!)
4.The status of having reached full legal age, with attendant rights and responsibilities.
(libertarians??)
5.The military rank, commission, or office of a major.
6.Obsolete. The fact or state of being greater; superiority.
(QCOMM??)

No details on qualified majority, a very important mechanism, but not for presidential elections.

Ilmarinen

P.S. The House is more interesting, 435 members, even
weirder numbrs, while only one president, more difficult to
split him proportionally.

Correction: How much freedom do we have? The current President received the second highest number of votes cast from the voting public. Is Bush's presidency an expression of the people's will?
