"A big problem for DELL is that i815 is limited to 512M"

From Intel's point of view, there is no sense fixing this problem until the 512 meg. limitation in Windows 9x is fixed. If you run Win2k, then you should be using a "professional" motherboard like the i840 or the P4 anyway...

Rather curious figures were released by one of the marketing companies of Taiwan. It announced that the percentage (ratio) sold chipsets VIA for platforms Socket A to Socket370 has made in the first quarter 4:6 whereas in the fourth quarter of the last year was only 3:7. In other words, this year chipsets VIA for Socket A processors became 10 % more popular, and chipsets for Socket370 less popular. It also announced, that the monthly volume of chipsets VIA for March has passed already 5 million pieces and consequently, among them was 2 million chipsets for motherboards for socket Socket A processors. By the way, it will be very interesting to look, as these figures will change after processor Pentium 4 will enter on the mass market. You see company VIA till now has not received the license for release of the chipsets for this processor...
