bother? Yes,

I am also bothered by a report I heard on NPR tonight. It seems that the sea-grass vital to birds and the shrimp hatchery and the rest of the ecology of the Laguna Madre (the strip of water between the Texas coast and the Texas barrier islands of the Gulf) is threatened by dredging of the intercoastal waterway (payed by our tax dollars). THe dredge dirt and silt is dumped over the side onto the grass and bottom covering it in a thick layer of sediment. The only boats that go down that waterway are barges owned by Jim Baker, Mosbacker, and George H.W. Bush. They only send a barge every few days so the cost to the tax payer is more than they profit they get from killing the fish. This does not even count the cost of lost shrimp, lost tourism, and lost fishing.
