International gold shipments prior to, and immediately after, WWI will turn out to have been more dramatic than those preceding the Depression. But no Depression accompanied those movements. Under the gold standard, gold was moving between countries all the time (although the actual gold rarely left anyone's vaults, it just got a new owner's name tagged to it). I don't know what connection you see between international gold movements and the Depression. I don't see a connection.
