Just heard CNBC state Solomon downgraded CIEN and CORV....clowns, how forward looking?

SO what capex is down...it's not stopping.

I would think CORV revenues could only improve, right now they are just a drip in the bucket....one day this baby will pop on the new customer news....but when? I'm sure it will be a surprise.

08:01 ET Corvis (CORV) 7.89: Salomon Smith Barney downgrades to
OUTPERFORM from Buy; says the long haul market
build out is slowing sharply and becoming more competitive; pricing
pressure in the space is building due to aggressive tactics by
Nortel and Lucent; CORV also failed to announced any new contracts
and doesn't see any before the 2nd-half of 2001. Reduces
full yr revenue forecast to $294 mln from $315 mln and FY02 to $411
mln from $678 mln.

CNBC reporting SSB downgraded CORV and CIEN. David Faber wondered aloud why the analyst had a Strong Buy on CIEN from its peak until now and chose today to downgrade. Thought the analyst in question might be behind the curve.
