My parents were divorced, my father twice. My mother was divorced once and never remarried. Her mother was divorced, and had a miserable second marriage. Her mother didn't divorce but separated when the children were rather young. Her mother was married twice - I don't know what became of her first husband (my great-great grandfather) but he had a child by another woman who was older than my great-grandmother's family. So I look at divorce as a natural act - but we've hung in there.
