They can make the numbers say whatever they want. Imports down a lot, so that's a plus to GDP. Hmmm. Price of gasoline in Q1 where I am went from 1.18 to 1.57, so that was probably a plus to GDP, too (under the guise of increased consumer spending). And CBO is projecting record-high cap-gain tax proceeds next year. No kidding. Hmmm. On the other hand, the new highs list on the Big Board intrigues me. Interesting mix of names, and the list has expanded recently. Value-oriented, only a few growth names. Anyway, at least now we know what to do. Buy 'em two weeks before options expiry. PB
