I agree, at some point the rate cuts have to take effect and fuel spending.

However, I am of the belief there is way too much spending and not enough saving in this country by the consumer. This will come home to roost one day.

Okay now we have corps. that need to spend on R&D to keep ahead of the competition. But even those corps. that buy their tech. are also over extended and this will prove problematic one day too.

I'm old fashioned Kieth. I believe in the message of the Lorax and I think we are on a run away train and even AG can't help it. I don't know if he caused it as everyone seems eager to point the finger, but I admit to having no formal schooling in econo and am learning as I go along.

That being said. OTOH, I think it is remarkable the economic expansion we have experienced here since the 80s, but maybe it's time for a rest.

I keep thinking back to when I got married(for the last time) in 95. My best man's speach commented about our rompings through the "fat 80s" he was of course speaking about something completely different. But just like those days needed a rest, so do these days.

Am I making any sense or just babbling? I'm not sure. I think I got food posioning yesterday and an pretty sick right now. Last night wasn't much fun.

And I wanted to make this comment too

I mean, if some quality stocks are down 80%, isn't most of the downside over.

What if....

What if the gears just come to a halt for a while? Not probabal, but very possible. Then these companies that are down 80% might still be expensive.

KG...80% down but they were 3x-6x over valued to begin with. Look at AMCC...still has a PE of 300+ and a forward one of 80+ in a biz that has no growth looking forward 6-12M??? No thanks....

Sure some sectors will be good going forward...but I don't see most tech or telecom being in that group till Q1 next year.
