The Metro Sector is STRONG for the long term but...

The market is fickle...look at how OCPI has exceeded expectations (without taking guidance down in this difficult environment)....Yet, this conservative company did not have the clearest forward guidance -- tell me which firm in the optics space does <VBG>. OCPI has sold off over 25% when its one of the few profitable optical components firms thats growing fast and strategically placed in the Metro Sector. It seems like individuals, Fund Managers and Houses are very short term oriented now -- they change their view on a sector and its prospects as often as Weather.com changes its forecasts. Often high performing companies in a sector thats out of favor don't get any respect. This may not be a good market for the LTB&H folks. I may have to become more like RR and Venkie and more aggressively book profits when I have them...<G>....I'll modify my investing style again when the market shifts. We can't control the wind BUT we can adjust our sails.

Look at one of my recent favorites -- Novatel Wireless...NVTL is NOT profitable -- in fact they are restructuring as losses have gone up. Yet, the firm's growing and institutions are buying into their wireless modem story....I don't have many shares left BUT profits aren't everything in this market -- look how NVTL has appreciated in the last 10 days. Booking profits regularly on some of our remaining investments becomes important.

Oh well, have a good weekend everyone...=)

Best Regards,

Scott
