Barb, fair enough, that's the crux of the matter...

I looked up your NASDAQ Link and found out that between January and April 2001, the reported short position varied only by about 100,000 shares, between 1.5 and 1.6 million, in round figures...

Yet, we know there was a 3 for 1 forward split during that time period, hence my supported conclusion, using YOUR source of Data, that it's very likely that the short position in GENI is now around 4.5 million shares, rather than 1.5 million...
