Re CRA: They just announced they have sequenced the mouse genome, and unlike the human one they plan to sell this one for money. The mouse genome is important because it can be compared and contrasted with the human one ( mice and people share most of the same genes) and it is hoped it will be very helpful in understanding the human genome. Mice are also very popular lab animals, especially for early drug trials ect. Maybe CRA will finally cash in on their expertise. However, I think there is a publicly funded mouse project in the works which eventually will give the data away for free.
