I agree with that assessment. Anywhere you have monopolies like in health care and utilities you are going to see inflation and places where there is too much competition and capacity, prices will erode further and margins will contract (because fixed costs are going up).

The one thing about a tech slow down, though, it tends to slow the pace of rolling out the latest technology (which is always deflationary) so prices might slow their decent to some degree. I'm noticing stronger PC prices on my auction site, which tells me more about demand and pricing strength then retail reports. During the Asian crisis the pricing on the auction site fell through the floor all across the board (I'm still working with equipment I snarfed up back then). I was buying cheaper PCs for people last year.
